Who am I?

I am Jeff Grubb. A Detroit Lions fan and am almost not ashamed to admit that.

I grew up in the suburbs of Detroit and as a boy rooted hard for the boys in Honolulu Blue, especially Barry Sanders. Today, as a true fan I find a reason to cheer every game but it gets harder and harder every year.

The Lions have the worst record in the league since Bush took over in the White House (there is a way to blame him for everything). That is why it is so important to be a fan NOW though, because when (if) they ever turn this team around you are going to want to remember what it was like when things were bad so that when they are good you can really enjoy it.

For us though, we'll enjoy ourselves as we talk about the team we hate to love.

The University of Michigan Should Change Their Mascot From The Wolverine To The FUMBLE. posted on 09/27/2008

What a horrific season it has been for the Michigan Wolverines.  In Michigan, in the fall, you can deal with the Lions being the worst team in Football, because Michigan is always going to contend.  Well, except in the year 2008.  Apparently, when the Lions are the worst they've ever been, Michigan needs to try to compete with them. 

At least in NCAA Football 6 wins is all you need for a bowl game and some sense of accomplishment.  In the NFL 6 wins will probably only get you a top 5 draft pick, for real, James Laurinaitis should start shopping for homes in Detroit right now.  

Still, though, Michigan isn't just supposed to skate by with a few wins.  They are supposed to rule the big ten and then crumble in defeat under the mere presence of Jim Tressel's sweater vest, but if you've watched this year you know that youth and inexperience has been the main issue with Wolverines.  Now, just read that last sentence only replace the words "youth and inexperience" with "fumbles and more fumbles".

A New Era? An Era Where We Can't Blame Millen. posted on 09/26/2008

He's been fired.  If you are reading this then you know who I mean.

Matt Millen and Bill Ford Matt Millen.

The man that has been the bane of the Lions' and their fan's exsistence for the better part of the last decade is gone.  He took over operations of the 9-7 Lions and lead them to the least prosperous span of any team in the salary cap era.  

So he is gone.  And what now?  We are left with the worst team in the league.  A team that'll likely give up and pack it in for the rest of the season because they know that their coach is probably next to go as soon as the new front office takes over.
